Visiting the Museum

Visits to the private museum of The Wildfang Collection are possible by appointment and require prior registration.

The private museum of The Wildfang Collection is located in Müllheim, a town in southwestern Germany situated between Basel (Switzerland) and Freiburg (Germany), in the Rhine Valley near the Black Forest.

The region—known as the Markgräflerland—is located in southwestern Germany, in the Rhine Valley near the Black Forest, and lies conveniently between Munich and Sainte Marie-aux-Mines.

How to get here

By Car

Müllheim is approximately 4.5 hours by car from Munich via Stuttgart (A8 / A5) and about 1.5 hours from Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines.

This makes the museum a convenient stop for collectors traveling between major mineral shows.

By Train

Müllheim has its own train station, located approximately 600 meters from the museum.

High-speed trains (ICE, TGV) stop in Basel or Freiburg, with direct regional connections to Müllheim.

From the station, the museum is within easy walking distance.

By Plane

The nearest airport is EuroAirport Basel–Mulhouse–Freiburg, located approximately 30 minutes by car from the museum.

When arriving at the airport and heading for a rental car or taxi, please use the French exit, which provides the most direct access to Müllheim.

Visit Formats

Visits are possible in two formats:

Public Tours

Public tours take place on a regular schedule and are open to visitors with a genuine interest in mineral collecting.

Admission is free of charge.

If you wish to participate, please request to be included in the mailing list announcing upcoming public tour dates.

Private Tours

Private tours may be requested, particularly by visitors traveling from abroad who cannot attend scheduled public tours.

Availability is limited and cannot be guaranteed. A fee may apply to cover out-of-pocket expenses.
